Male or Female

When I bought my ball python…the lady told me is was a female. It’s weight 3200 grams. When I probe it it’s a male. What do you think?

Then if you probed it and it’s a male then it’s a male. But you could probe it again and double check but when probing it’s hard to do it wrong.

My oldest male BP is my largest. So I have seen a male that size…

You can’t ID a BP from looking at the tail. If you need to know for sure, I would send a scale clip or shed skin to have it tested and sexed. or find another breeder or a vet to probe or pop and sex this snake

That said, if you purchased this snake as a proven breeder I would believe the breeder.
Probing can be done wrong at times. And if so that can be dangerous. The vent also looks to be a bit irritated in this photo. Has it been this way long?

I’d recommend the non intrusive shed testing mentioned if you have the $27 to spare.

I agree with armiyana above.
I dont know your experience but be careful probing if your not experienced at it, it is possible to push it through a female so it looks like a male especially if the probe is too small. If you are experienced , then go with your probe result.
Popping is an alternative.

A male over 3KG wow. How old is he?

He’s 24! But he’s always been a big boy.
I’ve been keeping him fairly lean lately so his weight is back down to around 2400, but he was over 5’ when I last measured him.

One of my previous roommates had a male bp almost that big. We never weighed him, but he measured nearly 5’ in length. Biggest ball python I’ve seen in person. I think he was about 15 or 16 years old at the time.
