Morph ID help please

This is my first time posting here, so I apologize in advance if I do anything wrong, please let me know and I’ll do my best to fix it.

But basically, I’m curious about what morph my baby Pumpkin might be. I have some guesses but would love to hear what y’all think.

For info, I got her from a friend, who got her from a ‘breeder’. I put breeder in quotes because the guy gave Pumpkin to my friend when she was only days or maybe a week old, which from what I understand isn’t great.
If I remember right, the breeder said she was a Blood Emerine, pos tornado, pos giant.

Here she is as a baby, aka when my friend had her.

And I suppose for fun, I’ll ask about Reesie as well. I’m fairly certain she’s just some sort of albino, but if you see anything else, that would be cool to know!

Pumpkin really did have an amazing glow up!
So there’s the issue of the ‘what she looks like’ vs ‘what she is’.
By looks, I would ID her as a Super Hypo Tangerine Baldy. She doesn’t have solid black spots on her back or head. She has gorgeous color. She is close to being considered a carrot tail (some may still call her CT) but the color is broken up by spots and bands, so I wouldn’t consider her as one. These are all considered line bred polygenic traits.

Now there’s no way for her to be ‘possible’ Tornado. Tornado is a particular breeder line of Tangerine. So they either are a Tornado, a Tornado cross or just not at all. I would honestly be hesitant to say she’s a Tornado cross because there isn’t any mention of the parents genetics or lines and many times people will use these bloodlines to describe a similar gecko to get more eyes on ads or just not understand what lineage is.

I can see her as being from the official Blood Emerine lineage. She has great color and that little bit of green in her head pattern and the blurred spots on her back…but this is another instance where I would be hesitant to say she is because of the ‘possible tornado’ flub and that we can’t guarantee she is indeed from that line.

possible giant can be true… But can be difficult to prove because sizes in leopard geckos can vary quite a bit.

For your other cutie, I wouldn’t be able to tell you which line of albino. All three look too similar.
It looks like they had a bit of a ‘jungle’ or aberrant pattern as a baby. Meaning that they didn’t have the normal bands as a baby and ended up looking a little different

Thank you so much for the reply and all the awesome info! (and for complimenting Pumpkin, she’s gorgeous isn’t she??)

So with Pumpkin, the Super Hypo would describe her lack of pattern, the Tangerine would describe her color, and the Baldy is because she has no pattern on her head, correct?
And I was wondering if she might be a Carrot Tail with how distinctly orange her tail is, but she would need to have a larger section unbroken by the white or black to be considered such is what you’re saying?
Then line bred polygenetic basically just means that rather than being a clear dominant or recessive gene, it seems to be a mix and to get more you just have to breed two animals that look the way you want?

(I’ve bred rats in the past, but I’m brand new to leo morphs, so I’m trying to make sure I understand what you’re saying lol. So apologies for just reiterating/clarifying what you’ve said.)

So to be Tornado, one of her parents would have to be traced back to that particular breeder’s line? In that case probably not lol
I get the impression the person who bred her was just a casual/pet breeder who may or may not have known what they were doing.

And Blood Emerine is another one where at least one parent would need to be traced to a specific breeder’s line?
Then the giant I doubt because I think she’s past the age where she would have shown that she was getting huge.

Then with Reesie, yeah. I figured based on what I’ve read, it sounds like all three strains of albino look similar or at least have overlaps that are similar so it’s impossible to tell them apart just by looking at the animal.

Oo, jungle is interesting, though in looking at the morphpedia page I’m having a hard time understanding what makes a jungle versus a normal pattern. Though maybe it’s just because I don’t have any normal pattern leos to reference myself lol. If you have any more info or examples on that, I’d love to see them!

If it helps, I got Reesie from my local Petco (unfortunately I don’t have any small reptile shops around here, so big box pet stores are my only option) and here’s some pics of her when I first brought her home.

No worries about reiterated stuff! Wanting to learn more and be sure is great! I wish more people would do that before just jumping in.
I’m gonna quote and reply so it’s broken up and easier to follow.

Exactly right. =)

I am SUPER picky with how I would ID or sell my own geckos. The orange would need to be unbroken for at least the first 15-20% for me to call it CT. I’m sure there are many who would disagree because of the sheer amount of orange Pumpkin has on her tail.

Yup! Kinda like tall parents have tall kids and such

Exactly this! And yes, the same for the Blood Emerine. They can be a ‘cross’ of that line into a different line or a recessive project, being a ‘het’ is impossible.

Wild or normal pattern Leo’s start with a pattern that looks like Pumpkin’s did as a baby. The dark head, white neck band and three dark bars on the body with bands going down the tail.
‘jungle’ was basically what any gecko with a different pattern on the back or tail would be lumped under. Jungle being a polymorphic trait meant that they would have some of the babies also end up with a different pattern. Eventually many were worked through line breeding into things like the Bold or stripe projects.
Reesie would have been considered jungle because of the way the first and second bar on her were melted together on one side into a u shape.

Hope that helps! =D
