Can anyone tell me what morph they think this lil guy is he’s 2 months old I think snow or lava snow but I’m not sure
Looks like a pretty little Snow who will have heavy frosting in his saddles. It is best for determining morphs to get pics in natural light, but Snows are easy. I think I can see hints of possible Red Factor or Halo in borders, especially along the belly edges of his sides but he’ll need to grow more for that part of the ID. I’m curious why you mention Lava. It wouldn’t show but might be present. Did the breeder say he’s Lava?
Definitely some flavor of snow. But some of the coloration is throwing me off. Even the iris is a funky color. Pretty corn!
Good eye, pardon the pun. I may get blasted as crazy here, but some of my Halo animals seem to have a subtly different tint in their irises as hatchlings. It’s one of the things I look at now to try and ID Halo early on. Super tough to catch in a photo, not necessarily easy to see right in front of me, but often visible if only slightly.
You’re crazy!!
That would be cool if it’s a reliable indicator.
Very cool! I’ll have to watch my babies (one halo will be ready to breed next year), and keep tabs on which ones develop halo and which don’t.
So far in my admittedly small sample size, it seems to be a thing. My husband can’t see it all, so it may be one of those things where it’s subtle enough that a person’s physical ablilty to perceive colors allows or prevents seeing it. Natalie, I expect great things from you on this front!
The artist eye had to vibe in handy some how!
