Morph identification please for a giant leopard gecko

Hey guys, thank you for having a look at my post.
is this a tremper eclipse leopard gecko? it looks like one but it does not have the standard orange of a raptor so my questions is, if it is a tremper eclipse? he is still 10 months of age. thank you and kind regards!

Hello!

So… I personally agree that this gecko is not a RAPTOr because the color is not as bright of an Orange. But this is a frustrating debate with some because there are many people selling geckos with obvious patterns as RAPTOr.
And the acronym stands for:
Red eye (eclipse)
Albino
Patternless (super hypo)
Tremper (albino strain)
Orange ( line bred color)

Your gecko is a beautiful Eclipse Tremper Albino Super Hypo. =)

Depending on who you ask they may also be considered tangerine and/or baldy.
-Baldy because there’s not really a solid dark spot on the head, it’s faded out markings when you compare it to the tail spotting.
-Tangerine has advanced so much in modern leopard gecko breeding that the old standard for tangerine is so pale in comparison. I personally consider the old standard for tangerine a ‘pet quality’ tangerine. I think your gecko can fall into that kind of color rating.

Thank you for replying! missed the super hypo gene. I’m still reading through genetics and learning about morphs. Would really like your opinion; IF i breed this male to a female, which morph would you recommend? because i searched endlessly to see what morphs could complement his eclipse tremper and now super hypo gene hehe to produce visually nice geckos. Here where im located its difficult to get certain morphs so im still looking. thanks again for replying!

So super hypo is a polymorphic trait like tangerine. They’re line bred to look that way.
You can’t pass it as easily as albino or snow for example. The only way to work it is to breed other geckos that look as good or better. Then the offspring will be a mix. Hopefully most look the same as the parents. Some may look a little worse. Ideally you want a few to look better. Then you take those better ones and do the same thing again.

I would definitely look for a super hypo with a brighter color. That way you will keep to almost all hypo or super hypo offspring. Hopefully you’ll get some nicer color out of them too. If you find a really vibrant color with a few spots (hypo) that can work too.
From there… If they have visual other for albino or eclipse is a bonus.

A lot of it will boil down to what you want to work with as well. If there is a particular gecko you like and want to see, go with that. Passion is always superior in my opinion.

Follow up…
Blood, Tornado and a few other different names are really just different lines of tangerine or high color. A breeder sometimes decides to call their successful breeding project a different name and they get popular.
You can look up many of them in the Morphipedia on MorphMarket.

You can absolutely breed one of those named tangerines with your male. I like to refer to the offspring as a cross after that, since it’s no longer a purebred gecko from that breeder’s stock.

I understand, it is what i was thinking to breed him with a tangerine. Its better to go by passion. thank you for making me understand the genetics more kindest regards
