Morph Issues [Ball Pythons]

Seen youtube from bhb. He has some but he stated he is not selling them. I have not checked his postings.

Last show I went to a breeder who worked with scaleless told me that the females couldn’t/didn’t lay eggs. Obviously this is just the experience of one breeder, but I’m not sure why they’d lie given they were trying to sell scaleless head breeding adults

I haven’t heard/seen anything new either way. Besides just scaleless animals in general needing extra attention due to their shedding issues.

Is there a way to add a drop down to this? I preferred being able to see the whole detailed list for each combo.

Should be some answers this season. Lone Star Reptiles has 4 or 5 scaleless females up to size and is doing homozygous x homozygous pairings.

What detailed list?

I had no idea this was a thing! My BEL came from a high percentage visual pied clutch. I don’t know his genetics either so i don’t know if he had picked that up but there’s a high possiblity he’s het for pied.

I never thought his eyes were small, but I’m not really a huge ball python lady and he was my first/only hatchling ball… But now you’re making me wonder…

Do you think his eyes look small?

Even if he’s not, i was planning on breeding him to a pied to prove out that het if/when i found a female. If there’s a possibility of breeding issues, should i hold off on that pairing?

It does not effect the het Pied animals, only the double homozygous Pied BluEL

Again, only an issue with the only the double homozygous Pied BluEL. So as long as the female you breed to is not a Pied carrying a BluEL gene (Butter, Honey, Mojave, Phantom, Russo, Special, etc.) then you will be fine

That’s really good to know, at least i know what i gotta do research on!

These are some of the ones that were originally on the post.

I think a drop-down for each complex with the specific genes and their combos with their possible outcomes is more informative.

It was probably a bad idea to even do that in the first place but that was basically the order info came in, it became less and less accurate the more we learned more. Its not accurate to generalize it as we did.

For Super GHI, could somebody explain to me what Wrinkly Hatchlings means? :grimacing:

Some of them hatch with loose fitting skin that seems thin and wrinkly. Check out m joy morphs on IG and scroll back a couple years. All the super ghis I made that had the issue had other morphs and it didn’t really show in photographs. The issue clears up in the first 3-4 months usually.
