It’s at least listed under the generalized BEL complex/pied small eyes…
What’s not on here at all is the White Devil(super lesser/butter albino) having small eyes as well.
If you look at the sales history pretty much every one has it. And it also seems to be an overall BEL issues as well since it was in another couple mixed BEL albinos. Lesser/butter is just the most prevalent
There was just a post last week where staff members were saying that super lesser only causes small eyes in pieds not albinos because it wasn’t on this list. =\
That was because of a different issue. We were trying to work out if the animal in question was actually albino or it was a bead eye anomaly causing the red coloration.
In no way were we saying that super lesser only causes problems in pieds, not albinos.
Super lesser are know for big eyes So of course any super lesser plus anything runs the risk of big eyes. There is zero issues with single gene lesser plus anything except pied.
Only after someone mentioned super lesser pied being an issue did you agree micropthalmia was a problem.
No one had said anything in regards to White Devils or Cherry bombs being the issue you all jumped on the incubation as the reason the snake was an albino with small eyes when multiple snakes have been sold here with the same albino BEL micropthalmia issue.
It needs to be on this list as a possible outcome. Especially when at least 8 snakes in previous sales on this site all have that issue.
I meant big eyes geez lol @owalreptiles has been maintaining the list for years and does an excellent job I don’t claim to know everything and freely admit when I’m worong But I have been producing 9 years and know a little bit… and that poster never posted another picture of the snake showing both eyes like asked. @owalreptiles maintains the list so present your evidence to him because I don’t have anything to do with the morph issues list.
And my concern is that small eyes are prevalent in super lesser pied and super lesser albinos, but this list does not include the latter. When brought up, it was shot down by everyone except @t_h_wyman as a possible outcome for that animal’s small eyes.
@owalreptiles has been doing a great job with this list. I don’t fault him for this in the slightest. I actually sent him a note regarding albino BEL being a possible addition a few days back. I only bumped the thread because someone else did regarding guess what, another BEL micropthalmia issue.
He cannot maintain a list like this with how many morphs are being produced and bred without input from other people… but when people shoot down a possible reason for it as ‘not being on the list’, that’s my concern. It makes it so that others will shrug it off as no big deal and get swept under the rug.
At the very least we should admit that not being on the list doesn’t mean it’s not possible.
I am all for adding any know issue to list so we can stop breeding any combo that produces a large number of defects. I do find it odd though when a poster asks questions and can’t produce any more pictures of there clutch.
This is an unsubstantiated (thought not necessarily untrue) rumour from back when there was a lot of controversy around the morph. The collective backlash over the whole thing has kind of driven a lot of people that work with the gene to not talk but I would suggest reaching out to Daniel at Constriction Addiction as he has a number of visual Scaleless animals
I also have a friend with one that ought to be around 5 now I think, I can check how his is doing
Seems like a good way to clean it up. I would recommend linking the Spider Complex to the same tag on the Morphpedia, so we can see whats in that group.
Any word on scaleless females being infertile? Looks like another seasons gone by without any on eggs (or at least without anyone sharing they did it).
