I’ve never been 100% sure about Rex’s morph. When I first got him, I decided to wait until he was older to guess. He is now around 11 months old and a big boy!
My guess is Leatherback because he seems to have reduced spikes and his back is quite squishy. However, I’m still not positive since I don’t know his genetics so he could be normal. I bought him from a reptile store because he jumped on me lol and the store didn’t know his morph or lineage. He is my first-ever bearded dragon, so I can’t compare his back to a normal beardie. His nails are clear/white with a black stripe on top.
Here are some images of him. Sometimes his back looks brown, but after a good shed, it turns a nice, bright tan. I know we can’t get a 100% accurate answer without his genetic history, but I would love to get some ideas!
(sorry if the images aren’t the best I took them on a computer)
(from far under his lamp (assumed recently shed)
(basking under heat lamp)
(out of the enclosure no heat lamps)
(back and tail ) (no heat lamp)
(his tail has always been gray since he was 4 months old It’s growing lighter as he grows if you guys know why let me know its not broken or anything doesn’t look anywhere near tail rot just gray)
