Mouth Rot Rescue Progression

For those that want to see her progression.

This is Fig when I got her in January:

This is Fig today after about two months of my care:

She is still very underweight as it took well over a month for the mouth rot to clear up so she has only eaten once for me so far.
And if anybody wanted to know, I was told she is a Mojave Firefly Het Clown.

Great job caring for her! She looks really good! I am sure someone else will come along to help with the morph ideas!

I don’t work with BPs so can’t help with the morph. But my, she has simply got to be sooooo much more comfortable now! Not only her mouth, which is a huge deal. I’m sure she feels better all over worth the infection and inflammation knocked down. What wonderful care you’ve been giving. :confetti_ball:

I was wondering, what is her story? I think that is really neat that you’re able to get her that much better in just two months! Best of luck!

Oh my gosh she looks tons better :sob:

You are such a blessing to this poor snake. Is she eating good for you now? She does look like a Mojave.

Edit:

I just saw this, I missed it because the recovery photos made me estatic lol. I hope she continues to take meals for you!

Basically she was born quarter 4 of 2023 and purchased from an expo around June 2024. She was not cared for well and given to me in the conditions in the first few pictures in January 2025. She was underweight, dehydrated, had tons of stuck shed, and had mouth rot. After a few vet visits, a month of antibiotics, and two months in a proper enclosure, she is in the condition you see in the second set of pictures.
I personally have had experience with rescues before this, just none this bad. Most of my rescues I rehome as they are usually leopard geckos or crested geckos. I used to have leopard geckos but don’t really have much desire for them now, and I still have two crested geckos so I don’t want or need anymore. I will be keeping Fig, I personally love ball pythons and have always wanted to breed them. I have two others as well.
Here are my other ball pythons if you wanted to know (I don’t have pictures at the moment):

  • Fireball (named after the nip because she would probably give her life if it meant she could bite me one more time): Female, [Butter/Lesser; Clown] (I actually don’t know if she’s Butter or Lesser or if it even makes a difference)
  • Romeo: Male, [Banana; Special; Cinnamon; Possible Het Clown]
