Aw, sorry to hear about that clutch. Fingers crossed for the next!
Did all of the eggs smell/look bad, or just the one you cut first?
Every egg in the clutch had a smell and brown yolk when I made a small cut. Most of them started feeling really squishy and also appeared to be leaking too
Aw, I’m sorry, that’s just the worst feeling. I can’t remember, have you done that same pairing before? I’m wondering if it was genetic incompatibility.
I’ve done the same pairing with ember before and had this same issue but this year not a single one of her eggs have gone bad. Instead is fugolion and Cindy’s clutch. I haven’t paired them both before though. Cindy has had one clutch before but the fertility rate was very low and most of them were slugs. From her previous clutch only 2 hatched
Oh, I’m sorry about Cindy’s clutch. That’s really disappointing for you. Hopefully the other clutch will be all right.
Wishing you all the best with Ember’s clutch, and very sorry you lost Cindy’s. Sometimes these things just happen.
Thank you :). I really don’t think embers clutch will be long now either. I’ll make sure to update as soon as they pip!
That’s such a heartbreak! I’m so sorry!
It’s now day 69 for embers clutch and I really don’t think they will be much longer! The egg shells are thinning now too but unlike Cindy’s clutch they aren’t leaking or have any discoloration.
The thinner eggs in particular had plenty of movement in them too! Hopefully there won’t be much more of a wait!
Getting close!
They look really great. Hopefully you’ll soon see those little pippers!
Hopefully soon! I can’t wait to seem them when they do. I’m really hoping ember does prove to be het hypo too since some hypo blood Pieds would be lovely especially with embers diffusion level!
Seeing the variety is the biggest reward for breeding, isn’t it? Best of luck with your pied and high diffusion expression!
Thank you! Both Ember and magmar are also het anery so the full pairing is Fire pied het anery poss hypo x diffused pied het anery hypo. So there should be a mix of blood pieds and granite pieds!
It is day 75 now but still no pips unfortunately! All the eggs still look completely healthy, no mold, no yellowing and and still seeing movement!
Fingers crossed they wont be much longer now!
What a gorgeous Pied Fire!
Beautiful girl there! Love seeing progression pics! Hoping your eggs get with the pipping program soon.
