I got another ball python to confirm its ID. I was about to buy this guy, but I can’t find any reference pictures on the internet that show a similar expression. However, to me, it looks just like how I imagine the three genes combine.
Seller said it’s an Acid Leo Cinny (het clown pos dh hypo pied) from Acid DH Hypo Pied (pos het clown) X Leo Cinny Clown
Apologies as I don’t have any pic of the parents or siblings.
If anyone could confirm the ID please, or provide a reference photo of a snake with similar genes (or variation of the genes eg. black pastel/confusion) with similar expression would be great.
At a glance it’s giving me Mojave Leopard vibes. Definitely feels like something else is going on here.
Also agree, that snake in the photo is very young… if it is old enough now or shed are there updated photos? Or can they get photos of the parents? If not I would be very suspicious.
Thanks for everyone replying. I’ll try to ask for the photos of the parents from the seller. Sorry, forgot to attach the video he’s sent after the first shed. Btw the seller is kinda preselling this snake as he won’t release it after 3-5 meals.
Here are the video of the parents provided by the seller.
Here are some photos of his half siblings from the male parent ( Acid DH Hypo Pied pos het clown) but paired to a different female. Single gene Acids and 1 Leo Acid:
You’ll need to wait for the images to fully load before sending the post. Also it looks like the parent’s video got eaten too.
Seeing the video does make him look more like a cinny leopard with the angular chaining on the sides. I’m assuming a lot of the issue is how polymorphic changes can affect all of these genes. And how potential hets can influence it as well.
@t_h_wyman has worked with acid. Maybe they can offer some thoughts on this?

I do not work with Leo so my experience in the combo is limited, but I am not seeing Acid in the animal in question. I would reach out to Josh Jenson though, he has mad a ton of Acid Leos
