Hello all! I hatched my very first clutch of ball pythons! I ended up hatching 2 healthy babies! The pairing was pastel to a pastel banana enchi het ghost/hypo. I’m unfamiliar with genetics, but slowly learning.
I have an idea of what morphs they are but I’d love y’all’s input!! Thank youuu <3

- Pastel Banana Enchi
- Pastel Enchi? Need more angles of that one without it balled up to get a more accurate determination. Its definitely pastel though
But of course they are (50%) het Ghost/Hypo.
(Edit): Sorry for the confusion guys
I fixed it lol. Thank y’all for pointing out what I missed!

I’d agree with @cmsreptiles
But of course they are both het Ghost/Hypo.
@cmsreptiles, how can you tell just by looking at them?

I agree on the first. Pastel enchi banana
The second looks to be pastel pos enchi but you would need better photos.
@halfmoonlakeherps is right in asking about the het hypo/Ghost. They would be 50% het for hypo/ghost.
You can have them shed tested to check for the het. Otherwise it’s not something you can say for certain

Here are some pictures I found of the pastel, I hope they help! It’s hard getting good pictures of this baby as it is very shy . I also threw in an extra picture of the banana pastel enchi! Thank you for your help!

What adorable snakes! The first one could be a pastel banana Enchi or a banana Enchi. The second one I’m guessing pastel Enchi? More pictures would be helpful.
Sorry, I just saw the other pictures i’m going to say that the baby is prob a pastel Enchi. Could be pastel though.
Can you post a photo of their head stamps? That can help determine if pastel is in both of them or not. Right now I’m leaving towards Pastel Banana Enchi and Pastel Enchi like others.
The best way to learn is to go onto MM and search the genes together and look at all the examples available. A lot of them will look more or less like your hatchling, so you can get a good idea on what it is. Now when you start gene stacking and no other snake has been made before, then it gets a little difficult ha-ha.

Its not by just looking at them, I’m going off of what information was provided in the pairing that produced the offspring. If one of the parents is het for ghost/hypo the babies will carry that 50%.

But the babies would be poss het or 50% het.
That’s where the confusion is coming from. They aren’t a guaranteed het as one parent is het, and there are no visuals in the pairing.
