Hello! This is my beloved rat snake Dusty, he was wild caught and has a kind of long backstory… basically he escaped and then a few years later i found him again (i didnt keep him after that, he was very happy and healthy in the wild). Recently i was wondering… what might his morph be? If you need more photos, lmk!! I have pictures of him as a hatchling and a juvenile

Looks like a Western to me…
What area was he in? That’s probably the best way to know for sure

Central Texas (Austin, specifically).

Yeah Western ratsnakes do appear in that range. So quite possibly.
I’m no expert at my IDs so someone may come in to correct me if I’m wrong.

Even if you did get it wrong, thank you for the help! I appreciate it :]

Looks to be a Wild Type Texas Rat snake, I see them all the time where I live and recently relocated an absolute unit of one found in a chicken coop eating eggs and chicks.
This one was easily 4+ feet and looked to be a gravid female.

@armiyana & @cmsreptiles are both correct. Taxonomically it’s a Western Rat Snake, Pantherophis obsoletus, Texas locality.
