Long story short, a friend is preparing to move out of the country so has been selling off his collection. His last adult pair happened to be 1.1 proven Angolan Pythons.
I’m really looking forward to keeping these 2.
Have them in their temporary setups for the time being.
AWESOME acquisitions! Such an interesting and underrated species, here’s hoping they do well for you. We definitely need more of these guys out there, so if you’re planning on breeding them, fingers crossed for healthy clutches down the line!
They’re rare, usually wild caught, and infested with parasites when you get them, but they’re rarely in the hobby! A 1.1 LTC pair is a holy grail though.
Yup again I’m sure glad you’re back Randall! . This will be superb project for you and I’m surely so hopeful you have great success with them! I have only seen a handful of these here as actually Captive Bred. If the price tags were not so outrageous for me I’d have one but they are so I don’t. I’m excited to see this transpire! As @emfraise Elijah said, they are totally underrated!
Appreciate the good luck vibes. I believe they produced every other year for my friend when he’d pair them. Their last clutch was laid in January this year, so I’ll get my chance to try in fall 2027. If I am successful I’ll have to work on adding some unrelated animals.
Im excited to get them into their actual enclosures after the stay in quarantine. Will be in either vision 432s or the slightly smaller 422s
