I recently obtained a 3-4 year old Dumeril’s Boa and I am trying to create the best environment for her. She is 5’ long. The biggest enclosure I was able to obtain on short notice was a 48x18x18, so a larger enclosure is in the works. Does 6x2x2 sound right? I am maintaining 50-60% humidity with 2-3" of coconut substrate. temps are around 83F on the hot side and 74F on the cool side. I have enclosures at both ends and 2 small plastic plants. Any suggestions? I want to make sure she is as comfortable as possible so she will start eating. So far she has not eaten. How long does it take on average for a Dumeril’s to set in and eat?

Dums tend to be very much into the “sit and wait” lifestyle so a 48x18x18 is fine for however long it takes you to track down something you feel better about
I have also found that Dums tend to be bottomless pits if they are happy so if your girl is not eating then I would suggest two things: 1) maybe bump temps up a little on the warm side (87ish or so, definitely do not go above 90F) and 2) LOTS of leaf litter. My girl was always happiest when she could just hunker down in the leaves and disappear (I, however, was less enthusiastic with her proclivity to explode out like a maniac bear trap whenever the leaves near her were disturbed
