Hello all
I am needing some advice / help.
Here’s some details.
I will be receiving my western hotdog knives next week and want to doublecheck everything
The room in which he will be housed typically ranges from 60–65°F at night and 68–72°F during the morning and afternoon. He will be housed in a 30 x 12 x 12 aquarium with a mesh screen lid, where all lighting and heating equipment will will sit on top A custom enclosure will be constructed for him once he has grown larger.( 4 Clamps/locks for the mesh lid)
For daytime heating, I intend to use two Arcadia 50W halogen bulbs, or maybe a 75w. Due to the nighttime temps Should I provide Nighttime heat? The substrate will consist of a mixture of ReptiSand, ReptiSoil, cypress mulch, and leaf litter. Initially substrate depth will be approximately 3–5 inches. As he won’t be more than 11in
The enclosure will be monitored and regulated with two thermostats one on the warm side and one on the cool side and temperatures will be verified using a heat gun.
Also umm I was advised they need a hot side of 85-95 and a cool side of 75-85 with 65 being the absolute lowest to try to avoid brumation during this time of year.
Any any suggestions, tips, or tricks are suggested please
