Nice project for 8ball

I’m looking for an interesting combination to combine with 8ball.
I will be very grateful for your help

Generally the most common is piebald. Another recessive to consider could be hypo for a faded look.

The downside is 8ball is known for kinking issues and facial deformities, just in case you weren’t already aware.

I would avoid 8 balls entirely due to the issues with facial kinking and deformities, and go with suma (super mahogany) combos instead. There’s some really gorgous ones with pied and other dark genes like a single copy of cinnamon, GHI or leopard

Suma black pastel is nice and dark. Much better mix of genes.

You could do Urban Camo, or a Pastel Butter Black Pastel Cinnamon. My recommendation is going on MorphMarket and putting to the trait section Cinnamon and Black Pastel separately, and select either or trait, as well as go to availability and select any. If you’re trying to specifically produce more 8 Balls then see examples of those combos with added traits, but since they are allelic I believe the other paired snake you get MUST have either Black Pastel or Cinnamon if you’re trying to hit super forms.

As others said it does come with issues such as duckbilling and kinks, however, with lower incubation temperatures than average and higher incubation time, there are higher chances of success than average temperatures due to there being a factor that causes issues DURING development in the egg of those with super forms of either Super Cinny, Super BP, and 8 Ball.

I tried this for myself. I didn’t candle the eggs during incubation. Just set them up and left them alone. They incubated at 85/86f and still kinked out on every super in 3 clutches with 2 different males.

One of those clutches was from a mom I incubated eggs at 89 and still kinked out last year. But I used the other male this year.

It’s not as easy as people make it sound and I do honestly wonder how many breeders aren’t being transparent about their rates.

Definitely, thank you so much for your input! It really does make one wonder the transparency of breeders and you’re 100% right on that and I never took that factor into account.

If you have time to message privately, I’d love to ask about your breeding attempts as it’s super interesting the ratio varying from breeder to breeder in regards of success rates. I am hoping to collect data so if you have the time I’d greatly appreciate it!

I was able to speak with some breeders at NRBE in Daytona yesterday about their experiences with lots of varying results, and I’d love to hear yours if you are open and have a moment.

I Bought already two 8balls maybe few months ago, they are cool one is with het piebald. I’m just thinking about make some combinations or just sell them

They are my first adults, i have also super chocolate

I wouldn’t put TWO 8balls together, that’s just asking for trouble with doubling up on the issues you already get having 8balls in the first place. They’re gorgeous snakes, since you already have them, might as well appreciate them for what they are or pick a different pairing, that’s just my two cents in though
