Ovulation? just making sure!

hello im still getting the hang out identify the ovulation part of breeding, im like 80% sure this is ovulation but i wanted to ask if it is just to make sure so i can write it down!

To me it looks like ovulation too

Hold the female up and let the last 2/3 of her just hang vertically. You should notice a large bulge in the last 1/3 of her, like she swallowed a football, if there is an active ovulation. Obviously the shorter the “hang time” in duration the better as it’s probably not very comfortable position, but there’s no risk to the ovulation at this point. Once you see it from this point, you’ll get better at recognizing it when she is just lying in her enclosure. Eventually youll be able to spot them without picking her up.

I don’t believe that is an ovulation. When a girl ovulates, the swollen area will be mostly straight and in the lower third of the body. You girl is curled where I would expect the swelling to be. Here are a few examples. You can see the area where the swell is is so stretched, they cant really curl it too much.

I’m no help here but I have to say, that’s so so so different from colubrids.

Those are excellent pictures of what to look for. I think most ovulations build and fall over about 24 hours, so unless you are checking 1-2 times a day it’s entirely possible you could miss the ovulation.
