Those guys are so pretty Olivia! Both of them would make some lovely babies! ![]()

I really like this one!
I think this thread is turning me into a corn person. The diversity and vividness of the morphs in corn snakes is out of this world.
Red Factor seems like such an interesting and difficult gene to work with. It kicks in as they age, is what I’m understanding? How on earth can you tell when a baby has RF?
Yes, converting people to corns is my goal in life! ![]()
Red factor is an interesting one for sure! Depending on which morph it’s paired with and depending on whether you’re dealing with homozygous red factor or heterozygous red factor (since it’s incomplete dominant, you can see it in either form), it can make it easier it harder to identify it at hatching. My red factor aneries and regular aneries that hatched this year all looked identical at hatching, but after the second shed, I could start seeing a bit of pink in the background color on the neck with some of them. Red factor snows and amels are usually a bit easier to identify earlier. Usually the more saturation of pink or red they have in the head color and in the base of the neck will be a pretty good indication of how good they’ll look as an adult, but there’s certainly some guesswork involved.
One of my favorites (although I say that about all of them!), Patty the peppermint. Such a cool morph and such a pleasant snake. She’s a doll.
Awwwww. I love her little Peppermint Patty face and her little flicking tongue! She is a gem Olivia!
Little Dot, Turnip and Daikon are coloring up quite nicely as well! Little Dot has taken a real liking to his little toilet tissue tunnel! I will update the two girls’ pictures at next feeding. I forgot this past week! Lol! ![]()
That’s so darn cool. Thank you! Also Patty is gorgeous, really does look like a candy snake.
The inquisitive expression of cornsnakes always fascinated me!
That’s a very special baby, and a very special satisfaction. I’m so pleased for you!
Love the others, too. I kept going back and forth on Patty’s first two pics so I could “watch” her flick her tongue! ![]()
Okay, this is the very last addition for this year, I promise! This is Midas, a golddust stripe. Very sweet boy!
Wow Olivia! He is truly an amazing corn! Are you absolutely sure he is the last addition??? ![]()
Yes! Well, pretty sure anyway! Haha!
Last addition, eh? Ohhkaaay. Midas is stellar, at any rate!
Ain’t no need to stop now!!
That one is super cool!
I had so much fun scrolling through this thread and seeing all of your beautiful snakes. I really enjoy your photography skills, Olivia. I know from experience that getting good shots can be a chore with curious, noodly Corns, but you make it look so effortless. ![]()
Thanks so much! I love photography and I love corns! They can definitely be challenging to photograph, but an upside down bowl or cave hide helps a lot!
You are liking the slide function? Just thought I would ask. By the way, a gorgeous example of that combo.
So true lol
.
now I just need to find a way to get a retic in Florida….
You can have all the retics ya want in Texas…
Just come to Pittsburgh! We have SerpaDesign (who lives like 5 minutes from me), Reach out Reptiles, AND pretty much no reptile laws.
