Pictures of reptiles in the “wild”

I have no idea where these guys came from. I just used the truck this morning and then noticed them crawling around maybe two hours later. I wonder if there was an egg sack hidden away and it opened up as I was driving around. If there are any spider experts in here that can id them I’d love to know. I think they are orbweavers as that’s the most common around here.

Oh my goodness what a nature find! The shadows they were casting threw me off at first because I thought they were black until I saw the last part of the video!!! They have the cutest round fat little bottoms! In fact they’re All bottoms!:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Gracious, what a buuuuunnnch of bitty baby spiders! They’re so little, and already so busy working on miniature webs. Too cute! What did you do with them?

Hubby was clearing some stuff in the carport and found this gorgeous little Eastern ribbon snake curled up in the bottom of an empty flowerpot. It has been relocated to a stream in a woodsy strip. It’s only about 100 yards away, so I guess it may be back. They’re semi-aquatic, so it ought to stay near the water and be happy.

Oh my what a pretty little critter! I’m glad you “rehomed” her to the perfect spot!

The snake’s flowerpot was up against the house wall, and was beneath a pile of pine cones. I’m guessing that the house wall was a bit warmer than the woods during the cold snap we have had. No more freezing temps in the forecast now, though.

And yes, a pretty little critter indeed!

Here is a baby Copperhead me and my hubby stumbled upon (and I very carefully relocated, do not attempt at home ) while doing yard work 2 weeks ago.

And a Water Snake (not Moccasin) that seemed like they were begging to be fed while I was fishing this past weekend.

My siblings said I wouldn’t pick it up
But I did:)
Such a pretty snake and he was super chill and let me handle him for a good five minutes before getting a bit antsy

Good for you @indiflare! What kind of snake is that? It is a very pretty snake!

I was just about to ask the same, that rich black contrasted with the white belly scales is so pretty!

Yes and plus it’s a rather large snake as well!

Looks like a Lampropeltis of some kind, the speckling makes me want to say Speckled King but its not as prominent as the Speckleds I see in the wild occasionally. From what I understand they should have more full body speckling even as adults, perhaps this one is a cross breed…

It’s definitely some kind of King snake, but I’m not sure exactly what
We have a lot of black Kings in the area (There’s an absolutely massive girl who pops up every so often but I haven’t seen her yet this year), but this guy did look a bit different from her, so I’m not sure if they’re the same species

Here’s one of the plain-bellied water snakes that live in my pond! Plus a cute bumble bee poking around in the flowers

My coworker found this camel spider in the office this morning. He actually captured it himself rather than getting up on a chair and shrieking for me to come do it, so I was proud of him. :joy:

Here’s a blurry picture of him escaping to freedom (little bugger was quick)

That’s a cool little dude! And props to your coworker for being brave

Found this pretty baby today. Tent caterpillars are extremely common in my area but that doesn’t stop me from admiring their beautiful blues.
