Pink Snow Bee Project Journey

Lots of keepers don’t fully understand how much work and absolute LUCK goes into isolating/line breeding Isopods. This is my Pink Snow Bee project and it all started a few YEARS ago with a single visual female. I’ve had 2 more pop up around the same time but when one does pop up the others perish so there was never a time where I had enough to group up. I eventually popped out a visual male (thank gosh, probably from a het x het from the original females offspring) and split him off with 4 lucky ladies. Around 12-ish months of time and lots of normal hets later, nothing was showing visually. Until one day I noticed 2-3 pink Snow Bees and then noticed some more and more. So just now I am finally able to get a decent group of all visuals together from something that started way back in 2022.

Hopefully they get to the “magic” soon for more Pink Snow Bees!

That’s really neat! Super unlucky getting the female or two before the visual male popped.

I’m not very versed in isopods. Is the last picture a visual and het? That’s a neat project for sure.

These are so pretty! Clearly I need to start collecting some of the fancier isopod species.
