Planted tank tips

Im going to be planting my ball pythons enclosure soon and would like to know if anyone has tips or common problems to look out for. Her substrate is coconut husk and ill be adding peat moss and top soil (all sanitized) for the plants. Currently im planning on a hawaiian pothos, scandapsis, and a dracaena. Her tank is quite big so Im not worried about the size of the plants, and i can always trim them if they get out of hand.

My best tip for you is that you need to let the plants establish and grow a bit before adding the snake.

Even then there is a chance that your BP could flatten and smother the Pothos and Scandapsus as an adult so be aware of that.

What would be a good amount of time, a week? or more?

It generally takes 3-6 weeks for plants to begin growing good strong root systems. So if you add the snake too early the plants can easily get uprooted and damaged before sturdy growth can begin.

The plants are already decent size so im mainly worried about their current roots getting situated in the dirt
