I purchased it from a regular pet store, so unfortunately I don’t have any information about its parents or lineage.
It was born in April 2026, and by the end of September it has reached about 8 grams.
At first, I thought it was just a normal crested gecko. However, someone who saw photos of it suggested that it might be a Cappuccino.
I’m curious to know what genetics it might actually have.
When fired up, it develops a relatively light brown base color, with some orange-yellow markings/patterns over the brown. When fired down, it appears more like a light grayish-yellow color.
I would really appreciate any opinions or information that could help me identify its genetics. If possible, I’d also love to know what characteristics I should look for as it grows, especially if it could be Cappuccino.

There are traits that can mimic the appearance of Cappuccino, and Cappuccino can vary in expression from barely noticeable to full blown expression… so without lineage we cannot say if the gecko is or is not.

Dalmation

Partial Pinstripe
Just a side note- if you are planning on breeding this gecko please do not. It’s not good practice to breed Crested Geckos, or any reptile with unknown lineage.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply! Your input is really helpful, and it gives me a lot to think about. I’ll keep raising this little one and see how its colors and patterns develop as it grows into adulthood. I’ll definitely keep an eye on it!

This one does not look capp to me, the overall colour is off, however like cms said, without lineage you can’t really tell for sure, and nowadays with how overbred capps have become, there’s absolutely no reason to prove it out, unless you had managed to get your hands on a spectacularly nice one.
