Good morning. Sorry, I didn’t label all the pics with name and ID. I’ll go back and add names before pics.
You did see Contender. He’s the last one, BexAm1524. He was a bit less contentious, this time. I didn’t get bitten, only rattled at and mildly musked. #11 is Coronet. Harmony is #14.
Awww. How could you??!
These are all such beautiful hatchlings.
Ok! Thank you! I have been ill the past few days so I am a little foggy! They are ALL SO GORGEOUS @caryl!
Thank you both kindly. I’m so sorry you’ve been ill, @caron. Hope you’re well on the mend.
I’m rather in love with these babies. Actually I’m in love with way too many pretty babies this year. Choosing holdbacks is so often so hard, unless there is only one of a target morph/sex/both. This year’s going to be extra brutal.
Well little Missy! Be careful what you ask for…….
And thank you for your good wishes! I believe I have picked a favorite that you might not be keeping……. But I don’t have too much patience with muskers!
Haha I don’t have much patience for being musked in the longer term, either. I forgive new babies. They get a grace period from me until they’ve had a feeding or two. If they’re big enough to eat anything besides a pinky and still musking, they’re not going to be staying here.
Well we will stick with Plan A then! Little Ulrich is a perfect example of a gentleman so I am spoiled!
Lol he’s one who hatched that way.
These babies were offered meals this morning. The following diners are members of what @caron calls the Clean Plate Club: Cling, Elberta, Florida Dawn, Coronet, Lucky 13, and Harmony. It’s kinda funny that three of the four Opals ate.
The other nine, well, they’ll get another chance in a couple days. Next time I’ll shoot for around sunset, and leave food overnight if they’re pokey about it. I haven’t had too many picky eaters yet this season so I suppose this was due. I have faith that they’ll feed, hopefully sooner than later.
Yup I am sure the other nine will chow soon. Sending a little prayer to float up in a cloud that those lazy nine will eat!!!
Feeding update: I don’t have pics because it’s dark, but I wanted to officially add two names to the list of feeders. Halford and Harvey both are their supper tonight! I reheated and left pinkies in with the other two who got them late tonight. I had tried four of these babies early in the day, but no joy. Still, we’re over half eating. Progress!
Yay for progress! That’s just Peachy!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted pics of these beautiful babies. Heck, it’s been a while since pics were taken! Lol. They are having their second sheds. I’m still unclear about Peach/Super Peach on some, especially the Opals. They’re unusual and I’ve not seen any in person before these so it’s uncharted territory for me.
Btw, the very small second clutch from Beau and Amoret is on Day 64. The shells have thinned a lot and I hope soon to have three new pippies.
Here are some of these Peachy beauties. They’re even lovelier in person.
I’m pretty sure this girl is Super Peach Fire. Her color is very saturated and even her belly is covered in color.
Gorgeous. Love that belly!
Contender has settled down and is content to be handled these days although he’s usually moving at least a bit so most of his pics are blurry . He eats like a champ. Turns out that he has a very few belly checkers, so he’s not Diffused.
Here are the Opal females. Florida Dawn is Opal, Harmony is Diffused Opal. Both have some yellow showing on their noses. I think this may be Peach?
Florida Dawn, who is very bright and coral in person:
Here’s Redgold. His name is fitting. He’s a Peach Fire. So far, he eats consistently as long as he catches a whiff of gecko scent on his pinky. He only requires a whiff, so I expect that soon he’ll dispense with that requirement.
Harvey is also showing Peach coloring. He doesn't like to hold still for photos. 😁 Cling is more cooperative with photos. He seems to enjoy handling as well. Lots of personalty in a small, Peachy package.
