Well, don’t let me stop you!
You are so obliging dear lady!!!
I want a baby snake so bad …if I could @caryl you would already see me trying to get Harmony from you
I hate to jump into a thread with an off-topic message, but I’ve been trying to DM you, Riley…
I know, I have been trying to find time to actually respond lol . I am sorry, i wasn’t trying to be rude or anything like that.
Baby snakes for everybody!
Just kidding, I understand that the desire can easily outpace the space and resources. Believe me, I understand that well.
I still don’t have pippies. But in the last hour, these slits have appeared.
Come on, come on, come on!!!
Give them a few more hours. I told you the babies would be here by midnight tonight so I have a few hours left!
Btw Mr Pat O’Butter scarfed his first meal down in record time. He is absolutely the most precious little boy!
Excellent. Good boy!
Hooray for Pat O’Butter, what a good boy!
I still don’t see any noses, but Egg #2 with the slits is blowing bubbles. I’m (im)patiently waiting for more.
And I am doing some rearranging……. again…. Will text you later!
Well, shucks! Still nothing more than slits and bubbles. These babies are really challenging what little patience I’ve got! Caron said by midnight, so that’s a bit over an hour away here. I hope I’ll be asleep. And I hope I’ll awake to three visible pippies.
Me too! The suspense is killing me!
Still just slits. I don’t like this.
I can’t believe Caron lied about the hatch time.
Thanks, Dean! Made me laugh even though I’m stressed.
Ouch! and @caryl To the altar with me!!!
I have sad news. The three in the second clutch unfortunately did not hatch. I noticed an off smell yesterday morning. When I had a chance to candle them in the evening, the veins had degenerated. I cut into the eggs and found that the babies were no longer alive, but they hadn’t hatched because they had major problems.
I incubate in a small room/large closet at ambient temps. I kept the eggs on the bottom shelf, but we did have a heat wave during their incubation. Given that the parents produced 15 perfect babies in their first clutch, I assume that temperatures must have gotten too high for these little ones during that time. I wish it hadn’t happened.
I’m going to jump immediately to this, because I’m blessed and thankful to have these beautiful babies. They are a comfort and a joy. Harvey shed last night. He is a handsome Peach Fire, looking very coral-peachy!
Very peachy! Sorry about the eggs that didn’t make it.
Thanks. So am I. At least I’m as sure as it’s possible to be that it was environmental, not genetic. Still wish it hadn’t happened.
