???) back in 2022 from a pick an egg promo from Seventh Level Reptiles. He himself stated that he’d never had a baby hatch as such a vibrant orange, and believes something else may be at play. Flash forward a couple years, he ends up with another baby displaying that vibrant orange from the same dam. She appears to be a normal, aside from her coloration. For my boy, the pairing was Bamboo Black Pastel Pin Yellow Belly (Sire) X Pastel Enchi (Dam). This time around, he used a male Bamboo Enchi Pin, and resulted in the female. He told me he believes it is Mandarin, not Nr Mandarin. Opinions?

So my understanding is that Wilbanks Mandarin is more common in the US. I don’t know the ins and outs of the difference between them. They could just be the same lines with different polygenic traits. Like coral glow and banana
There are a couple of people that have a mandarin shed test available, hopefully RGI will pick it up soon. That would be the easiest way to determine what’s up.
NR Mandarin does have the tendency to brown out in a single gene form so that could be what happened with the sister. So testing her would be the easiest.
The enchi definitely has some beautiful color. There is something there popping that burnt orange in there, so if mom was a possible Mandarin then that seems to help prove the possibility.

Would you happen to know who would have the shed testing available for mandarin? I have tons of his sheds saved up from over the years and would love to get some answers for once. It’s a really beautiful gene when mixed with Enchi by the seems of it, and I would love to start a project with it.
