Could i just use my coco chip bedding for my ball pythons as “soil” or would i have to get something else just curious i didnt like the fake 1 i got and my mom has some i could try to grow off a cutting if it would work otherwise im just ganna get a different fake plant
I am going to assume you meant ‘pothos’ ???
A deep enough layer of coco should be fine for pothos. It is hemiepiphytic so the roots are pretty good about absorbing moisture in really loose and open substrate
Pothos will grow in almost anything. Dirty water is good. Wood chips. Bark chips. Damp drywall. Couch cushions. Anything it can attach its haptors to. Just needs moisture.
Coco coir is often full of phyto nutrients and beneficial bacteria.
Ya didnt see the misspell or autocorrect whatever the case may be thats good to know ill start growing 1 out i have a bad rep with plants but since it will be in with a snake that i take care of it has a good chance lol…unless it gets bowled over to much
My grandmas started peeling wallpaper and popcorn ceiling off lol because the new leaves decided thats where they belonged i wasnt sure if the actual roots needed more thank u
What? That’s hilarious!
One of the few things pothos doesn’t tolerate really well is movement. Once it has grown in place it is best to leave it alone. I’ve seen/had them as a long naked vine, in some cases circling a room. Their leaves grow and orient themselves to available light. When moved too much they drop leaves and reorient to the new position and grow more leaves. Sometimes quickly.
Up a wall, over the back of the couch, down between cushions. Yes, I had one attach to the couch. And also push adventitious roots into the t.v. vents. Another one pushed a shoot out the opposite side of a wall from the living room into the pantry. Quite a surprise to find a new shoot and leaf growing out of the wall in a room with no windows.
I used to joke that if fam and friends hadn’t heard from me my plants have probably trapped me and are consuming my nutrient rich body.
They r the takeover plant lol my grandmas went both ways along the curtains since she had it in the corner of the kitchen she always rerouted where it was trying to grow tons vines died when we had to move it for work on the house and grandma didnt think she would be able to bring it back but she did when i change substratebout then shouldbi just leave that corner alone comepleatly and just spot clean around it ive never had live plants in the tank before or how do i go about cleaning around it to
That’s even funnier!
