So look who I saved from becoming a road pizza! Meet Franklin…yes, I let him go, sadly and regretfully lol . Loved him…got to get myself a tort someday.
Awww he/she is such a cutie
He…I sexed him
He’s a good lookin’ boy! I wish him luck.
The side eye in that first picture is hilarious
I need to get myself a tortoise …I have been researching all day lol
You’re down in Florida right? Sounds like you could use a yard buddy to help trim weeds or exist in an outdoor enclosure! Assuming you have the space/yard ofc, which in this economy…
We have a massive backyard…lol good thinking
See there ya go! You’ll need a little garden buddy!
I vote sulcatta then……. Definitely!
See, my sister wants one…they are a bit big for me…I am think more like a red footed, or an Indian star tortoise (more likly this one).
May Franklin go on to have many happy, healthy babies in the wild. Thank you for saving him!!
Thank you …as you can probably tell, I would have loved to keep him. But I know that I had to release him so that he can continue. But it was such a rewarding experience…I brought him home and gave him something to drink and eat while I made sure he wasn’t going to develop any symptoms from being hit by the car. I got those pictures and just enjoyed him for an hour or so and then I took him and relocated him to a protected area (I walk there a lot…so I took him a ways in). Loved him…so happy to see that he was ok after the accident.
Love these guys! I’ve been reading a bit about smaller tortoise species lately, and I think the Indian Stars are some of my favourites, they’re so freaking pretty.
Though if I had the space, I’d love to have a whole herd of giant tortoises.
Yup I would have sulcatas and Galapagos and aldabras! The Indian stars are by far my favorite of the smaller species but boy are they expensive!
I love tortoises period!
