I recently got a FB40 5 level rack from Next Level Displays and I’m having trouble with the temps. It’s on a herpstat with the probe taped directly to the tape with gorilla tape (per her-stats recommendations). The temp of the tub closest to the heat tape is 84 while all the rest are 90-92. I keep ball pythons so I need that hotspot above 84 but I don’t want the rest to go above 92 I typically prefer them around 90 anyways. Anyone have any ideas?

What do you mean by closest to the heat tape? How is this set for heat?
There’s always going to be a bit of variance because heat will rise and if on a colder tile or wood floor the bottom tub will need more heat to reach the temp needed. I would always put my probe in the middle most row of any rack to try to keep them balance.

Closest to where the heat tape starts ie; where the cord connects, it is also the top tub, the probe is taped to the middle level, I know there’s variance but 8 degrees is a lot.
