Recommend tank size for adult male BP

I have an adult male ball python, i would consider him about average size for a male of his age. What size tank would be suitable for a permanent home? I had a 75 that cracked and while searching for a new one ive heard from some that is too large?

I usually recommend a tank that is at least about as long as the snake, 18 inches deep, and 24 inches tall. That way, he’ll have the space to pretty much stretch out if he wants to, you’ll be able to give him stuff to climb on, as well as several hides and a nice big water bowl. While there’s gonna be individual snakes out there who may not do well in bigger tanks, generally speaking, bigger is better, as long as it is set up correctly with plenty of clutter, and a proper gradient.

Bigger is better if you understand your individual snake’s needs and do it right. Some BPs like smaller enclosures and feel more secure in them, while some like exploring more and enjoy having larger spaces.

It’d be the best of both worlds to get an enclosure long enough to meet or slightly exceed your BP’s body length for them to fully stretch out comfortably while also providing adequate cover and hiding opportunities for them, and they really enjoy snug hiding spots.
