When you suggested green and bronze I had to think about what species came to mind…and anoles fit so well!!
Wow, that is gorgeous! Anoles really do fit well with that description
Probably ended up being one of my favorites so far!
Very nice! I adore anoles. I am always happy to share my front porch with them.
I love anoles too, especially the green ones. Not gonna lie, I’m super jealous of all you folks who get to see them running around in the wild. We don’t have any brightly-coloured lizards where I live. In fact, we have very few brightly-coloured reptiles in general. We have California mountain kingsnakes, which are tricoloured, and we have California striped racers, which are black with yellow stripes. And California kings, which are black and white. Aside from that, all our reptiles are pretty much just…brown. Not saying they’re not beautiful in their own way, but I do get a bit jealous of people who live in places where they get to see reptiles sporting a variety of bright, vibrant colours.
I absolutely agree on this front. I’m in Ohio so we have a variety of frogs/toad, some salamanders, and some snakes like garters, but nothing exceptionally colorful (they are still beautiful!) - I’m amazed some people can go outside and see agamas, iguannas, anoles, etc
Life has been hectic, so I made a few more moodboards to relax!
Yellow anaconda
Green anaconda
A few gorgeous rattlesnake localities
Blue and Green Insularis
Yellow Insularis
Wow, those are amazing! I found the one for the green anaconda particularly fascinating. The colors work (of course), and the images push into the unexpected in a wondrous way.
Thank you!! Something about the muted colors of the green anaconda just screamed Dark Academia to me, and the images meshed together better than I expected!
Oh my goodness, they are beautiful! Insularis’ in general are some of my favorite snake, happy that you’ve made a moodbaord on them! The others are just as gorgeous
Thank you! I couldn’t NOT highlight such vibrant and beautiful snakes!
Yep! Also, I recommend doing a wagler’s pit viper, another one of my favorite venomous species! I love their colorful scales
keep up the good work!
I’ll take a look, thank you!!
Had some brief free time in between classes today, so here are some mantids!
The inspo for the orchid mantis and the dead leaf mantis are pretty obvious. For the Chinese mantis I wanted to lean into the otherworldly aspect without going totally alien, so radiation themed it is!
Mantises are beautiful! I’m glad you made a moodboard of them
Thank you! I drew one recently and realized I hadn’t done a moodboard - an unforgivable sin!!
Not an unforgivable sin at all, but thank you for rectifying it!
