Reptile recs for 24x18x18

Hello! I have a 24x18x18 enclosure that I need to fill. I have geckos, but I want to look into snakes. The only snakes I’ve found that will fit in this size is hognose, rosy boas, and Kenyan sand boas. Are there any other snakes that are active and visible that will fit in this? I love ball pythons, but don’t have the space for a 4x2…. Some people keep them in 40 gallons or racks. Is this ethical?

40gal is the absolute minimum I’d keep a pet Ball Python in. They can comfortably house smaller end adult males.

Racks are fine for breeder Ball Pythons since they save on space, but not great for pet Ball Pythons unless you’re willing to pay premium for a rack that can hold big bins. Or you can jerry-rig a large shelf (using safe standards with the heating elements of course) to be used as a large bin rack, its just going to take some effort.

I buy pvc racks for my hatchling and juvenile BPs but my adults and Breeders stay in a shelf I turned into a rack that holds 28qt (large juveniles-subadults) & 40qt (adults) bins.

The only other species that I can think of that will work in a 34gal enclosure its whole life is maybe a male Garter Snake…
