SCALELESS California Kingsnakes

Excuse the massive photo dump. This was my absolute highlight for 2024.

Whos ready for story time?

So in 2020 a baby scaleless Cal King was found in San Diego by a longtime herper, snake was caught but escaped on the ride home.
Same year a longtime breeder randomly hatched several scaleless from a trio of sibling black and white cal kings.

I managed to get 2 male sibling normal colored possible het scaleless in 2020 (1 male escaped the same week I got them), then I was lucky enough to get 2 female possible het siblings in 2021.

First year breeding them was 2024, and I 1000% expected to get normal babies all across the board, and then have to spend years hoping the gene is in at least one of the poss hets and that I can pull it out.

But all 3 proved out as het scaleless
:exploding_head::exploding_head::exploding_head::exploding_head::exploding_head:

The future is BRIGHT bright for cal kings.

Do they have belly scales? Have they shed nice…still need the higher humidity during shedding?

Congratulations…they are extremely beautiful

Such cool looking little guys. I see some belly scales and it looks like a couple scattered scales along the spine on one? The belly scales is great tho if they all have them.

Congrats on the clutches!

Making me miss having call kings. Lol

Yep they have belly scales. Same care as scaleless corn snakes, extra humidity goes a long way during shedding.
