The dorsal is the same colour as the base pattern. I’m on my phone too
Thing is they can also be bicoloured when fired up like Lily exotics I’ve sent. You wouldn’t know when fired down.
Naruto is bicolour when fired up but fired down all one colour

On my phone it shows a different colour… As in line a harlequins dorsal would. But it could be out phones are set at different colours/contrasts or something.
I agree with Naruto, but I’m still not convinced on this baby!
I love this guy, but he is always in funny angles
He drives me crazy as he sleeps upsidedown and I have to move him in the hope he doesn’t get FTS! Why don’t they know what’s good for them
Oh don’t! Our Lily girl seemed to start showing signs of it but now fine, was moving her constantly, now she sleeps in the log thankfully!
I best go check on the Crestie eggs when home, they shouldn’t be long!
Honestly it never gets boring at all, still get excited when more hatch here. Feeding may take longer and misting but all part of the fun!
@foxreptile you’re going to love it when yours start going. Bring on those fertile eggs!!
The newest one to hatch (the surprise left by Harley) is a feisty one! Mouth open at me every time I say hello, Emily was in stitches at it trying to bite me the other day
Can someone explain FTS?
Floppy tail syndrome.
If cresties don’t have enough coverage/places to sleep like branches etc they’ll often sleep upside down. (Or if they’re being a pain in the bum).
This results in their tail bending back, and in severe cases can bend right back over their head! And can even cause a curve in the base of their spine which can be fatal for females as can have problems laying eggs etc.
Some like to sleep on the glass though and there’s nothing much you can do to stop it, like Haise, and like milkway @foxreptile owns.
I brought Haise and when he got here I realised he had fts, was annoying as he was from a well known breeder too, but regardless I love him. You can see the dip at base if his tail…
Wow that is crazy, I learn something new everyday. It doesn’t look like it is much fun.
Now because it is not a genetic issue will you still use him to breed?
It drives me crazy as I’m not always there to correct him. I corrected him this morning but then I’m out most of the day so I can’t check on him again.
Milkyway has a very slight dip in his back but not enough to be FTS (yet anyway), despite my effort to stop him sleeping upside down… He just loves it. He sleeps between huge 2 leaves, but upside down instead of being a normal gecko
and sleeping the right side up. He has full control of his tail with no issues. I’m wondering if he would be better without the tail
But as Milkyway shows no sign of issues with movement and he is totally in control so Milkyway doesn’t have FTS, therefore I’m happy to breed him
of it was severe then I probably wouldn’t breed him
It doesn’t really affect movement etc. I’ve seen some severe ones, one was a rescue we had that went to the other half’s friend. He ended up dropping his tail though. But he was still able to do everything the same. Just with a dodgy tail
Haise is still a crazy boy, well he’s chilled now but he was mental
Yes he can still breed and was this year. His isn’t severe, just a bit upright. But he doesn’t have a curved spine of anything like that. Just a big ol dodgy tail from sleeping upside down!
I was right. 2 clutches hatched.
One a conjoined twin, didn’t make it out but was alive in there so a bit gutting but how it looks it’s for the best for him/her or him and her…
… posting threads up now ![]()
Love the new Cresties esp the extreme
shouldn’t be long till I see eggs, Gingerbread Latte is due to lay any day now, she has been digging around
I’ve removed the lay box as she ignored it and was trying to dig under it 🤦
I forgot to show you my ‘snowflake’ egg!
Found this little one on top of substrate last week, assumed infertile as last that were chucked on top we’re infertile. Just checked and it’s fertile!
No clue what’s with the egg to create that pattern.
But the little Snowflake should be hatching in a couple months. Whoever it is needs to learn how to dig and bury them like an actual gecko though
Yeah when you have a bio viv don’t expect them to lay in a box
never know she may just throw them for you like one of mine haha
I hope not, I envision her laying them in or on her coconut 🤦
She has got super skittish last few weeks so I’ve not handled her much to keep her calm
Pod is going tomorrow. Bittersweet. He turned 1 in July but due to having dad and brother I really can’t keep another male. I do love him a lot but he’s found an amazing home
He’s even taking his seed pod with him as he’s slept in that from the day he hatched, and every single day since too, hence his name. Well Pod, Been a good 13 1/2 months, off you go tomorrow to your new mummy
(I’m delivering him too so I get more time) 🥲
7 1/2 hours it took me to get there and get home
The things I do to make sure my Cresties have a lovely home! But the woman was absolutely lovely
Hello Coco
