Show off your fish!

I love this thread. I really miss having an aquarium or three, and it’s wonderful to see so many varieties of fish. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Then there are Tom’s fish. Those just make me seriously hungry! :joy:

Hey Logan! Really pretty fishes and the water is really crystal clean! Is that a crawfish I see and is that the itty bitty thing you discovered and then raised?

Good to see you and thank you for the photos!:heart::star_struck::wink:

I was thinking the same thing! Really pretty critters, really nice pics! I adore goldfish. They’re often underrated, I think.

yeah goldfish are so so fun to keep. it sucks that people view them as easy, small fish though because they are most definitely neither of those. my biggest of the 5, Pluto, is around 9 inches long and 2 or 3 years old. they can easily get over a foot long when given proper care

Goldfish are harder to keep than other fish imho because they produce more waste and dirty the water faster so it’s more difficult to keep the water clean.

Some nice sized creek chubs I caught the other day. I have a soft spot for creek chubs and I don’t know why but I just love them so much

Absolutely correct about the perception vs the reality of goldfish-keeping. Once we get relocated (by summer, I’m praying) I will get an aquarium again. I’ll most likely go with goldfish. They’ve got so much personality. A friend had one who’d spit rocks at the glass to get your attention if it was hungry, or bored. If the human would trail a finger along the outside so he could swim along and follow it for a while, he’d be content again.

Meet my newest addition to the family! Her name is Juno and she is a cotton candy plakat betta fish! She’s not at all what i had in mind when planning what type of betta i wanted but im happy to have her and i love her very much! She’s also being kept with 3 ghost shrimp and eventually i hope to upgrade her to a 10 gallon tank (i have one but have literally no where to put it lol) I also plan on getting her a floating log or one of those leaves to rest on pretty soon, just have been too busy to get them right now, and i’m keeping an eye out for a nice piece of wood to put in the center.
Btw it was very hard keeping my plans for a new pet secret as i cycled the tank for a month lol, really wanted to post about it but decided to wait until i got her.

She’s lovely! Her colors look great with the natural greenery and the black gravel.

No, I broke down that tank when I bought my house. I just miss that fish, he was very personable and always out and looking good. Now I wish I kept my tank, lol:man_shrugging:

I miss my tank dearly. Couldn’t physically keep up with the maintenance and had to bite the bullet of tearing it down. My two favorites were a Pygmy waspfish and a random crab that hitch hiked in on the rock. The waspfish was cool as heck and a smart little guy. I have no idea what the crab was but he lived in the sump and was fondly known as “The Sump Lord”. Was almost three inches across before passing. I also loved flower anemones and had collected a nice menagerie before tearing down.
