Solar Serpents 2024 Babies!

Another baby out, this one a female lava named Festival. The eggs in this clutch were quite small, so I’m not surprised that these babies are pretty small too. Both have been under 6 grams.

One more baby out overnight, a little normal motley named Gala!

The two headed baby did not shed overnight, but neither did the others who hatched on the same day. So maybe one more day.

Well since there are 2 heads it made take twice as long!:blush:

Ha! Maybe! He seemed to go blue later than the others. So maybe he’s just a little slow.

And this little guy is all done shedding! I waited until after the last baby in this clutch shed before assisting. He’s been in the clear phase for about 2 days now, so I figured I would just gently rub his face with a damp paper towel and see if it was ready to come off. It definitely was very ready. Once I helped peel the faces and jaws back, his body knew how to do the rest and inched out. His head coordination isn’t great, so I’m not sure if he knew how to rub his face against things to get it started? He may have figured it out if I’d given him another day, but I really wanted to avoid a full body stuck shed if I waited too long. He’s fairly active now that the shed is off. He also musked me a little bit, so that part of him is functional! I’m very hopeful he’ll be able to eat and digest food. Will give another update in a few days!

He is now officially named Gemini.

That’s incredible. And he’s so big and healthy looking. And a fantastic morph too. High hopes for him!

If you don’t end up keeping him as an animal ambassador, I know there’s so many people that would give him a fantastic long life as a pet and/or animal ambassador. I know I would…he’s an absolute miracle

I was wondering about the eyes… Looks like two good eyes! Just needs a little more watching for stuck sheds and injuries from burrowing

Yay for Gemini. I know they’re not out of the woods yet but it’s at least a great start
