Flash and Shindig. I got so many cool babies this year, it’s really hard to pick holdbacks! I think I have 13 on my holdback list, which is totally unsustainable. Ugh.

Well there are a few babies who are still being holdouts in regards to eating. Thankfully it’s mostly the babies who hatched big. But the other night, I got two of the non-feeders to take their first meals, Shimmer and Dazzle. Although I tried lizard scent pretty early on (which was rejected), this time they both accepted a dry-thaw pinkie heavily scented with lizard. Always a good idea to retry tricks. Hooray!

Excellent point to point out, and one that gets missed sometimes. Just because a particular feeding trick didn’t work earlier doesn’t mean it won’t ever work. It’s easy to get discouraged when babies are stubborn about feeding. People struggling to with stubborn babies can take heart from this.

Second meal for Dazzle! Dry thaw pinkie with lizard scent again, but a little less scent this time. Shimmer, the other one who ate lizard scent, is currently refusing, but I’ll give him a bit longer before I add more scent to it.
The babies in this clutch are all 50% ph cinder, but I feel confident that this one is 100%. I might need to hold him back. Better picture in daytime lighting:

Thanks, me too! Once he’s more established, I’ll take some proper photos showing his colors better. The one I’m for sure keeping from that clutch is really saturated yellow, totally different from this guy. Maybe I’ll take photos of them together.
