Another baby out and this one is killer! Belladonna, sunkissed tessera. Her pattern looks very similar to her mom’s, but she has the added benefit of being het cinder, so her pattern should stay bold (mom is very orange, so her pattern is less noticeable). But I really love that reverse striping look.
Such wondrous happenings today! Congratulations on all of them! What are you doing to keep yourself occupied? It’s rough for me not to pester pippies, lol.
Uhhh… staring at them constantly! When I’m not otherwise occupied, I’ll put an egg box next to me on the side table while I watch a show or work on the computer, so I can still ogle them out of the corner of my eye! But of course, they typically only pip and leave eggs overnight or when I’m not home!
Oh my! This baby… So now I’m wondering if the previous two hatchlings are actually moonstone motleys? Dad is het anery, mom has unknown genetics. This amazing little guy is Spyro! I wasn’t planning on keeping anything from this clutch, but dang, I might need to.
I hope that I’ll get some obvious lavender ones that aren’t red factor, to help me figure out if the gray ones are moonstone or lavender. A friend was just remarking to me that they don’t have the ‘mocha’ look of the original lavender hatchlings, and I was assuming it was because of the motley. But moonstone might make more sense.
I was looking at them and wondering about Moonstone. They’ve got very cool tones. Maybe it will all be obvious after they shed. Wouldn’t it be grand if that were the way it always simply worked?
Here’s an interesting baby. Sunkissed tessera named Oleander. With one tiny eye! Would that be considered microphthalmia? She also has a little bit of umbilical stump, so she’s hanging out in the deli spa for now. She otherwise seems robust and healthy. We’ll see how she does.
Also, interesting that half the clutch is out now and not a single one has any pinstriping. Dad is a very regular motley, mom is nearly fully striped. It’s making me wonder if she’s actually a stripe and not a pinstripe motley.
