Solar Serpents breeding plans for 2025

What a fabulous lot of tomfoolery you’ve got, Olivia! Wonderful babies! I’m like @kabre, I’m laughing every time I read a new name. And who doesn’t need more lighthearted fun in their life? So thanks for that.

Two more cinders out! First is Horsefeathers, male.

And Fiddlesticks, a peppermint, also male.

Only two babies left to emerge!

Unbelievable Cinder ratio!

How crazy that this wasn’t a planned pairing! Very serendipitous!

Really fantastic pairing and odds!

One more peppermint boy out! This one is named Baloney. He still has his little egg stem attached, so I didn’t do a bunch of nicer pics for now. He’s getting the sauna treatment.

Another cutie patootie! And that’s no Baloney! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Another Peppermint! So cool.

Aww. Hopefully little Baloney will shrink that stem down in no time at all. Is it the lightingor is he a bit lighter?

I think he looks about the same as the others? This is different lighting and a cell phone photo, so that might be affecting how he looks.

Gotcha. Heck, it could be my eyes or my screen. Handsome little dude!

Still waiting on Dawn’s eggs to pip. It’s the end of day 70 already! I was hopeful they’d be a little early since the last two clutches were day 68. Ugh, oh well. Candling at this late stage is always neat. You can see movement and even pattern on some of them. And I’m seeing a slight difference in candling colors, so maybe some neat variety? I’m so curious!

Pattern visible within the egg:

And different color candling:

That’s a really dramatic color difference with candling! Naturally this clutch is taking its time since you’re anxious to meet them. They know.

Here’s hoping you get plenty of surprises with this clutch Olivia! Those eggs are making you wait till the last because they are sucking up all that yummy yolk stuff!:pray:

And the last baby is finally out! A cinder named Hokum. Really great clutch! Out of 13 eggs, only one was a normal! Everything else was either an amel, a cinder, or both! I’m thinking no caramel (although if the cinders were caramel, I’d have a hard time telling!)

Hello Hokum! Welcome little buddy! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Congratulations on your new Hokum! (Now there’s a phrase one doesn’t hear often.)

And hey, congratulations on that first pip from your most anticipated clutch!!! :confetti_ball:

There’s a second pip this morning and I can see that the nose of the first one is a normally scaled baby.
