Some egg photos spring 2025 + Hatchlings in June

Beautiful female, beautiful clutch! You don’t have to separate the eggs. You surely don’t want to damage any in the attempt, but apart from that, it’s the way they are designed to incubate in nature. I incubate them clumped together all the time. The ones on the bottom may be surrounded by other eggs but they’re still able to get air due to the shape of the eggs. Here’s one of mine from last season. All 20 hatched just fine.

Egg updates & stuff!

Nitro laid 13 eggs on the 21st. Didnt look like much was going on inside them, very few barely visible veins.
Candled them today and theyre all definitely good except for the 1 grape sized egg. Lots of everything you want to see when candling. Ive seen that before with my kings eggs when it takes a few days to see anything. Heres the poor girl a few hours after laying:

And her eggs:

Shes already doing much better. She’s not a fan of anything larger at the moment. Has been preferring a couple fuzzies over a hopper. Hey, whatever she wants!

Next, my big ERO Star laid 20 slugs overnight (including the 1 weird slug from last week) and 2 eggs that look somewhat normal but i doube it. All of them are squishy and slippery except for the 2 maybes. Isnt exactly what i was hoping for, but maybe next year!
Shes 4 years old and her 1st year pairing.

And right now my Stormy is laying, can just barely see a clump on eggs through the laybox plastic. They all look big, oval and white. Edit: i took my 6 hour peekaboo & snapped a quick photo. Shes still got a few moreit looks. So far its 15 including the 2 yellow eggs, i really REALLY hope i get at least just one Anery Scaleless from her. Ive wanted one for so long but so expensive or in Canada.

Only have 1 more girl that hasn’t laid. Shyla. Shes one of my favorites. Okeetee Tessera het SL and shes a beautiful girl.

And 2 more somewhat off topic things. 1st, i just thought id leave an egg comparison photo between some average sized Mexican Black King eggs and an average sized corn egg.
Both females are about the same size.

And last, our new addition! My wife named her Sparkles

Congrats on all of the eggs! Good to see all of those beautiful possibilities in the making!

The comparison photo of corn and MBK eggs is interesting. I didn’t realize there was a such a size difference.

And congrats on the lovely Sparkles! I like to see patches of color on Palmettos. She’s cute!

It took me a long time to figure out how to navigate this place. I still end up missing things somehow.

Edit: As promised! The first clutch of MBKs started pipping 24 hours ago at day 66. 3 more eggs to go. The 2nd clutchs approximate due date is 6/14. Then the 5 clutches of cornsnake eggs are due 6/11, 6/19, 6/26 and two clutches due on 6/29. Im still asking the universe for at least 1 scaleless Anerytheristic. Ive wanted one for so long.

On a different note, do any of you folks use CHAT GTP? I’ve found it to be so very helpful with any and all information from colubrid breeding, mental health, generating charts and punnet squares… anything!

Oh i forgot! 3 new arrivals!

Hey you! Whats up!?
The last 2 photos are Alterna (Grey Banded Kingsnakes) the female with the uniform pattern is called Blairs Phase from Juno Road locality and the male would be considered an Intermediate Alterna Phase, and is from the Black Gap area in Texas. Offspring should be pretty wild. My favorite colubrid sub/species.

And the Mexican Black Kingsnake hatchlings are very calm this time. No biting or anything. They cool! And i wanna keep them all!!!

Hey. The Alterna are too cool. Love the MBKs too!

Congrats on the babies and the new arrivals. Hopefully the hatchlings will stay calm. Some of them find their spice after they shed, lol.
