Sourcing feeders to start a colony

Hi,
I’m at a point where my collection has grown to 40 snakes of 5 species. I think it’s time to start breeding my own feeder rats.
I’m going to build a rack of 5 tubs to start with, while I work things out. I know that there are several ways of managing feeders and I want to get things right before I expand.
Can anyone suggest where I get my first rats from please? And also ratios of males to females.
I am on the Wiltshire/Gloucester border in UK although I am fairly regularly up and down the M4 corridor.

Thank you.

Our terms of use says we cannot give specific recommendations on who to get your feeders from so no one can give you a specific name. That said, you should be able to source a starter from another person that is also breeding rats as feeders

As far as ratios, I am not a feeder breeder (violently allergic to rodents) but from chats with my guy, he typically does 1.3 for his rats. But again, a chat with someone local to you should give you a better idea of good colony ratios
