So, I have been trying to puzzle out how my tree boa, Naranja, can drink a half litre of water in less than half an hour.
Her bowl, stainless steel, is in a homemade cup holder and held to the upper back wall of her viv with suction cups.
I often notice that is empty after one drink. I looked it over and no holes. It’s not spilling. Filled at dinner last night, I was sitting near her home when I heard dripping. I get up to check and she’s coiled on the lip. And she’s dripping! Apparently tree boas and no doubt other species, can draw water up using capillary action.
Has anyone else witnessed this?

I know there are lizards that do it. Thorny devils for sure. Possibly/probably horned lizards too.
I know not everbody has water dishes on the wall but maybe others have noticed something.
