First time breeder here. My boyfriend was really in charge of this project and he just had to take a job five states away. Two snakes laid right after he left and now I’m trying to manage this on my own.One clutch looks beautiful and one, not so much. There is a foul smell coming from the incubator. I’ve been keeping an eye on the temperature, which looks good. I’ve transferred the most questionable looking eggs into a separate box. But now when I open the incubator, it definitely stinks. How do I know if the eggs are past saving? Am I putting my other eggs at risk by leaving them in the incubator? Any advice would be much appreciated! The funky eggs are now on hatchrite and I have the others on vermiculite that I purchased before I got a hold of the hatchright. Photo of the funky eggs was taken the first night. I used coconut bedding until I could get them switched over.

So the eggs in the 1st photo look perfectly fine.
The eggs in the 2nd photo that you said smell funky definitely look dehydrated, but otherwise don’t look “bad”. Does the smell coming from them seem rotten? Healthy BP eggs shouldn’t have an odd odor if anything at all, so most likely is that the smelly eggs were either infertiles or died early on in development.

Can you smell all the eggs and definitely tell the second clutch is the smelly clutch? Can you candle all the eggs and see if the smelly ones have veins and embryos? Do the smelly eggs have a hard feel when gently squeezed compared to the good eggs?
