Stonewashed bredli

This is my male stonewashed bredli. I just love the colors on these guys and they make great captives. I am working with a pretty big group and should be breeding them in 2020.

Is that an adult or do they lose some of that coloration as they age?

That is an adult. They really do get nicer with age.

Nice! I look forward to diving back into Bredli in the not so distant future.

Believe it or not. Brian Barczyk produces him. He was from the original clutch when the gene was discovered. I bought him second hand.

He’s a beautiful example of the gene. Cool that you have one from one of the founding clutches. Stonewashed appeared randomly in two separate collections, right? Did the two collections it popped up in both have animals from the same lineage?

It popped up at least twice (and possibly a third time in a pair of genetic stripes) from bredli from Casey Lazik’s original stock. It also made it’s way to Canada in Bredl’s Jags from that line.

It has also popped up in the Hypo line and probably a few times in Australian lines too. It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if a percentage of wild bredls had the stonewash gene
