Stretching Rodent Food

I’m trying to cut down on expenses and was wondering what kinds of things everyone mixes in to their rodent feeds to make them last longer?
I buy 50lb bags of kalmbatch 23% right now but would like to try and make it last longer

We add COB (corn oats barley and molasses) and black oil sunflower seeds. Both come in big bags, can be had at most farm supply stores.

I’ve never noticed that product. I normally supplement ASFs with a mix of scratch grains and sunflower seeds. Have you tried the COB specifically with ASFs? I have found their tastes to be a little different. Seem to love milo/sorghum.

We can’t have rats where we live, our ASF and mice both get a hog grower pellet (18%) mixed with the COB and seeds. I don’t really have a comparison to make on other feeds and production but we did notice that introducing the seeds made a positive impact on them chewing stuff. We added the COB 2 years ago switching away from a sweet oats mix. Our production has always been steady, when it cools off we up the ratio of COB for the molasses for extra energy.
