Substrate for a humid hide

What kind of substrate do you recommend for a humid hide that will keep about 50-60% humidity?

I mean, you can use Eco earth. You also could use coco husk.

I will definitely keep that in mind

Damp Sphagnum moss in a small Tupperware container with a hole cut in it so the hog can get in. Works superbly!:+1:

I am currently using that right now, but I found that it has to be changed out pretty often. I was hoping to find something you can get in pretty large bulk.

Hmmmmm. I just fluff the moss in the container and remove any feces? and then re mist……

I noticed after 2-3 remistings, your supposed to throw it away. I usually have to throw it away after about 6 days. I have 6 hoggies, and I have gone through half a block of the compressed moss in 2 weeks.

Oh wow! Are they in tanks or tubs?

My hoggie is in the dreaded “tub” set up (not a rack!) lol! So I don’t have to use humid hides. When I see him in blue I just move his water bowl closer to his heat mat and therefore make his whole enclosure a “humid hide” until he sheds out……
