Successful herping trip

Today was a fun day of herping. I found a juvenile eastern milk snake, a very young common snapping turtle and a beautiful full size black phase northern water snake that sadly got away before I could photograph it. Here are some pics of what I could catch though. Just so people know I’m catching and immediately releasing herps, I don’t remove any herps from their environment.

Cool finds! I wish eastern milks were more common in captivity. They’re such pretty snakes. And that baby snapper is adorable!

It would be really nice if we could get more eastern milk snakes in captivity. I wouldn’t be able to keep them though because native snakes are illegal here.
