This is the type of thing I usually have happen with my Colubrids, its a first for the few years I’ve had Ball Pythons though 
Feeding night was last night and I went to go feed the new girl (still thinking of a name) and she missed her meal and got herself. She didn’t want to let go!
Yum yum! She must taste as sweet as she looks!

Thankfully I have never had any incidents of finding them trying to eat themselves.
I have a male who will bite himself in feeding frenzy, but not really try to eat himself. He also does that weird tail lure thing. It’s too slow to be a rattle, and he’s certainly not nervous about my presence.
