Has anyone here been cursed by the odds gods by any chance? I’ve got a het male clown and a female het clown that have now produced 4 years in a row, 40 total offspring, and not one clown baby. I had both shed tested just in case i was crazy. Both came back het for clown, …the odds gods hate me, haha. Something to note, they both have lesser in them, so my luck the BELs they’ve produced were probably clowns with my luck.
A blacklight would be a good investment to help you check that
Ive tried that, maybe i have a crummy black light, but have a hard time saying with confidence if they are clown or not.
Unfortunately lesser does also make one of the cleanest BELs… But yeah, those odds sound like at least some of the BELs must have been clown.
Any type of pattern under the blacklight would be one I would consider sending for a shed test.
My cruel odds at the moment involves a male that seems to not lock with any of the females he was tried with. I’m really hoping for my VPI girl to have a visual in her clutch…cause then he’s just sneaky.
Yeah lesser BELs really are clean, but a clown would be nice too haha
Update! The last egg to hatch from this clutch (11th egg, 41st total from this pair) is finally a clown! A little what appears to be banana lesser clown (maybe pastel too).
You’re not alone, take a look at this absolute savagery
Oof…definitly hurts when youve been waiting all year for a pairing.
