The dreaded waiting

Trying to find ways to distract myself because the long wait for eggs to pip is killing me lmao :joy: (on day 39)

Here is a cute pic of one of my male BPs, Jango lol.

Try papercrafting! I’ve already made plenty of my pets by just recoloring some

AI Overview says “Nesting is the natural urge many pregnant women feel to prepare their home for the arrival of their baby, often involving cleaning, organizing, and decorating.”.

Sounds boring. How about alcohol?

Totally understand how it feels.
I have a clutch due to pip on my birthday…and another a couple days later. Last of mine for the year.

Less than a month to go for me. I’m trying to ignore them for now since it’s just eggs in the incubator and not any hatchlings.

I’m in the same boat my clutch has a little over a week left and I’m anxious cause the last time I bred this female in 2022 we had a horrible year caused by poisoned incubation substrate. So her eggs this year were to make sure she’s a good breeder.

If any of you buy coconut coir blocks for regular animal substrate or for incubating like I do make sure to read fine print or get from pet brands. Some sellers through Amazon put fertilizer in the blocks and don’t say it in their titles or descriptions for some reason. My babies from corn snake clutches and crested gecko clutches came out both as meatballs with skin growing over their bodies.

My cresty eggs this year are hatching right this time around so I have hope that the corns clutch will be fine.

I’ve been using one huge bag of 100% perlite since my first Crested Gecko clutch in 2018 when I was breeding them, no added ferts or other chemicals and I’ve never had an issue.

Definitely a good PSA though, newcomers or people who just aren’t aware will do good with that info.
