The fire trait

I used ball python calculator. I have a super pastel, vanilla, fire male to a normal female. Says outcome will be 50% firefly and 50% pastel vanilla. Why cant there be any vanilla fireflys?

It is because your male works as a double super (fire and vanilla are allelic). All babies will carry fire or vanilla not both. They will also carry one copy of pastel gene. You will not produce any normals.

In that pairing all babies will be 2 gene animals. They will either be Pastel Fire or Pastel Vanilla. Any pairing that male is involved in will produce at minimum those 2 combos.

So in order to get a pastel vanilla fire the female would have to carry the fire trait also?

I just got done reading on genes and traits. Let me just tell you im more lost now then ever. Ill try do more reading. But from what i read i only understand basic traits and 2 percent of the rest. I will just settle with i have fire flys, and vanilla pastels. Thanks for the responses though. Now on to youtube videos. Might understand after a few.
